The inspiration for Black & Denim®

The combination of Black & Denim could be described as perhaps the origin of casual fashion. Without a defined beginning or end, is everlasting. Nobody can really pinpoint when or where exactly this combination was born. But as true fashionistas and enthusiast we recognize that, through time and history, Black & Denim cannot be referred or restricted to any particular time. The combination of Black & Denim is eternal. Like water flows and crashes, this combination endures time and adversity. It dominates the fashion realm, permanent and independent of time. Interchanging shapes, styles and sizes, it will forever be regarded as the basis for color and design. Not belonging to or typical of, any particular time.

Black and Denim strives to expand the limit to endless boundaries of design and fashion through a two dimensional pattern that encompass a universe of ideas, color and shapes. In fashion, the color Black is considered stylish, sexy, elegant and powerful. Black & Denim strives to become timeless, classic and casual. The Black & Denim Apparel Company is the interpretation of Timeless, Classic, Casual wear with a bold, stylish, sexy elegant and sophisticated stand. Black & Denim derives its conception to the combination of two basic fashion elements: the color Black and the rugged cotton twill textile known as Denim.

What we call Black:

From Middle English blak, from Old English blaec The color black is perhaps the most misunderstood color. Black is believed to be associated with authority and seriousness in both ancient east and western cultures. In ancient Japanese culture, the color Kuro (Black) is a symbol of nobility, age, and experience. Black is everything. Black is the canvas. Black is the foundation. Black gives each color greater definition, additional shades, more depth and the sharpest details. A truly black black breathes life into color and forever changes the way you think about Fashion.

Black & Denim brings a casual look to a timeless lifestyle. The colloquialism "X is the new black" is a reference to the latest trend or fad that is considered a wardrobe basic for the duration of the trend, on the basis that black is always fashionable. This expression therefore makes the color Black the base for fashion. Black is not a color, strictly speaking. It is the absence of all color. Black absorbs all aspects of light. While white reveals, black conceals. Use the color black to convey elegance, sophistication, or perhaps a touch of mystery.

What we call Denim

Regarded as a cotton twill textile dating back to the 1800’s, nobody knows for sure when or where was the inception of Denim. The word comes from the name of a sturdy fabric called “Serge”, originally made in Nimes, France, by the Andre Family. Originally called Serge de Nimes, the name was soon shortened to “Denim”. Originally from France, Denim was traditionally colored blue with indigo dye to make blue "Jeans," though "Jean" then denoted a different, lighter cotton textile; the contemporary use of jean comes from the French word for Genoa, Italy (Gênes), from which the first denim trousers were made. We do not claim to make the perfect denim jeans. We just make them fashionable, hip and a pair that you can wear for years to come without compromising style, trends or time.
